Once the user has been created and registered, Command admins can assign permissions to the users.
For instructions on how to create and edit a user, please see the guide on How to register a user and Editing a user's details.
Note: there is no need to save when changing a user's permissions as settings are applied and saved automatically.
User permissions can be configured for:
SafeZone users
The only permission setting for a SafeZone user allows you to enable/disable them from raising alerts.
To configure the permission to raise alerts:
- Tick/untick the checkbox for Raise alerts
If the permission for Raise alerts is disabled, when the user tries to raise an alert on the SafeZone App, they will receive a message that the alert is not sent and will be given their GPS location and the button to call Emergency Services.
OmniGuard/Command Users
OmniGuard and Command users have an expanded permission set that allows admins to configure different levels of permissions for:
- Managing users in SafeZone
- Viewing user groups
- Sending notifications
- Generating reports and history
- and more
The Permissions settings will be displayed on the right side of the screen. Checking and unchecking boxes will enable/disable the features for the user.
SafeZone Administrator
The SafeZone Administrator option is an overarching permission which enables access to all SafeZone Command and OmniGuard menus. The user still requires appropriate text boxes to be selected in the Notification Administrator and Alert Administrator menus.
Raise Alerts
When Raise Alerts is enabled it allows the user to raise an alert through the SafeZone App.
View User Records
When View User Records is enabled, this option grants the user access to the Admin –> Users menu where they are able to:
- View the User List and search for users
- View a profile from the User List
People with this access are not able to do the following without the SafeZone Administrator checkbox being selected:
- Amend User Profiles / Permissions
- Register Users
- View User Groups
- Conduct Pre-registrations
View Notification History
When View Notification History is selected, users are able to see the History tab in SafeZone command. This tab allows the user to:
- View Recent Alerts
- View Alert History
- View Asset Heatmaps
- View Historical Check-ins
- View Historical Check-in Heatmaps
- View Notification History
Important: to view the notification history, a user must have View User Records and Message History or Message Administrator checkboxes ticked.
Notification Administrator
The Notification Administrator menu allows you to configure the communication permissions between SafeZone Command and SafeZone App users. Selecting the Notification Administrator checkbox grants that user access to all menus related to notifications. Specifically, the Notification Administrator can:
- Create new and amend existing notification templates in the Admin -> Notifications -> Templates and Template Categories menus
- Send notifications to SafeZone App users through the Notify tab. The administrator can send notifications from existing templates or create a new blank message.
- Send Notifications to a Muster List (Created in the Check-ins tab)
- Send 1 to 1 messages to individual checked-in users via the Live and Check-ins tabs
Send adhoc messages and templates
This checkbox enables fewer features than the Notification Administrator. The Admin tab is no longer available to create and amend templates. Features that are enabled through the checkbox are:
- Send notifications to SafeZone App users through the Notify tab. The administrator can send notifications from existing templates or create a new blank message.
- Send Notifications to a Muster List (Created in the Check-ins tab)
- Send 1 to 1 messages to individual checked-in users via the Live and Check-ins tabs
Send templates only
Users who have this checkbox selected have limited notification capability. Specifically, they can:
- Send notifications based on existing templates
- Send Notifications to a Muster List (Created in the Check-ins tab)
- Send 1 to 1 messages to individual checked-in users via the Live and Check-ins tabs
Cannot send notifications
When Cannot send notifications is checked, the user is not able to interact via text with a SafeZone App user from the Command. They are, however, able to call the SafeZone app user via the OmniGuard App.
Alert Administrator
The Alert Administrator section controls the number of features which are available to OmniGuard users in responding to an alert.
The Alert administrator can have the ability to:
- Acknowledge Alerts;
- Resolve (or Cancel) Alerts;
- Restore Alerts which have been cancelled in the last 1 hour;
- View the History of Alerts and playback events;
- Raise an alert through the SafeZone Command interface by dragging a dispatch icon onto the map on the Live tab;
The remaining four checkboxes can be mixed and matched as required:
Acknowledge Alerts - Allows an OmniGuard and Command user to acknowledge alerts from SafeZone
Resolve Alerts - Allows a user to resolve an alert from SafeZone and provide a reason for resolution
Restore Alerts - Allows a user to re-instate a resolved alert as long as it is less than 1 hour old
Alert History - Allows a user to playback an event in detail, showing a trace, on a map of where the alert happened and the movements the raiser and responders.
Asset Administrator
The Asset Administrator checkbox allows a user to register Vehicles and view the vehicles and buses which are registered in the system via the Admin –> Zone Configuration menu.
Asset Administrators are able to also change the type of registered asset, from Vehicle to Bus and vice-versa (Note: Vehicles are only visible to OmniGuard / Command Users, Buses are visible to all SafeZone App users).
Important: Vehicles can only be added by SafeZone Administrators
The Asset Administrator is also able to upload new overlay maps which can show bus routes, stops and other useful information.
Asset Administrators also have the ability to view the asset history in the History tab for:
- Asset History Playback
- Asset Heatmap
Asset History
Command users with the ability to view Asset History are only able to see the Asset History Playback and Asset Heatmap in the History tab
Check-in Administrator
The Check-in Administrator allows a user to Capture Muster Lists on the Check-Ins tab. The user also has the ability to view the history of check-ins in the History tab.
Check-in History
Command users with the ability to view Check-in History are able to see the Check-in History and Check-In Heatmap in the History tab.
Message Administrator
The Message Administrator allows a user to view messages from the History -> Notifications page as well as view any messages in a Tip Report.
