SafeZone is solution with many elements which are used across your organization, from first response teams, to emergency communications managers, administrative staff and counselling / wellbeing teams. To ensure data privacy and relevance, SafeZone's permissions structure provides Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to ensure users are only given access to the tools which are relevant to their position in the organization.
Examples:
- A dispatcher may need to see alerts, check-ins and movements of OmniGuard first responders however do not have authorization to send an emergency communication to all staff.
- A responder on the ground, may need access to alerts, however only those which are generated in their area, of a certain type (e.g. first aid).
- The supervisor of a group of remote workers or field trip may need visibility of check-ins and alerts for their team but not other teams or users.
- A communications manager may be allowed to send urgent communications to a specific group of users on one site but not other groups.
- A shift supervisor may be allowed to send pre-approved templated messages but not freestyle their own message not covered by an approved template.
- An Estates and Facilities manager may be able to see tip reports which describe Damage to equipment but not other tip categories such as "suspicious activity"
- Wellbeing teams may want to see Command for live chat through the browser but not any alerts, or notifications.
All the above examples are covered by the Access Control menu thanks to 3 components:
- Security Groups - Groupings of users who share a common role (e.g. emergency communications manager, dispatcher, wellbeing manager, travel manager, facilities team, etc.).
-
Roles - Groups of individual permissions which allow a particular function to happen to which security groups can be assigned, for example:
- a dispatcher may have an "Alert Manager" role allowing them to
-
- View alerts
- Acknowledge Alerts
- Resolve alerts
-
- a responder on the ground may have an "Alert viewer" role only allowing them to view alerts so a single alert-based permission
- a dispatcher may have an "Alert Manager" role allowing them to
- Permissions - Individual permissions to perform a specific action within the SafeZone software, for example raising an alert, viewing a user record, sending a notification.
