View and Edit User Group Membership
User Groups are used to target communications, filter maps and target automations / workflows within the SafeZone system. Groups can be managed through the User Groups page (Main User Groups Guide Here).
If you are just checking or updating a single user, it is more appropriate to do this through the User Profile Page.
Viewing Group Membership
User Group membership is now shown at the top of the page in the User Summary Information. Information here is read-only.
Editing Group Membership
Individual Users can be added to Groups by:
- Scrolling down to the User Groups section and clicking "Edit"
- Using the input box to either
- Search for a group by typing its name or scrolling through the list and selecting it by clicking it
- Remove a user from a group using the "x" icon on the right of the group's name
- Once you have made your changes, click "Save" to confirm or "Cancel" to cancel changes.
Data Retention Preferences for Users
The Data Retention section can be used to protect a user from deletion. When "Preserve user data" is selected, the option to delete them is removed from the Actions button. Any API process trying to delete the user will encounter an error.
This is a useful protection for "break glass" or other system accounts, and preserving users who may need to remain in the system for investigative or legal reasons.
Assign a Device to a User
Users can be assigned to devices through the Device Management menu. However if just updating a single user, it can also be done through the User Profile page.
- On the Profile Page, scroll down to the "Devices" section and click "Assign Device"
- Enter the Device Manufacture, Model and ID
- Click "OK" to confirm or "Cancel" to go back without saving.
Apply Permission Templates to User Profiles

- On the next page, use the dropdown list to select an appropriate template
- More information will then appear showing any items which will:
